SportPesa Opens Opportunities for Cape Town City FC

SportPesa is an African company who runs sports betting activities. Recently, they have embarked on a new endeavor by signing a contract that will last four years. This deal includes Cape Town City FC, a South African PSL football team. The contract agreed that SportPesa will now be Cape Town City FC’s official title sponsor.

SportPesa is quite popular around Africa, this is their first venture into South African sports betting. This new deal will definitely help build awareness for the brand as they will be featured on home and away jerseys throughout the course of the next four years. These shirts will be seen by many football lovers, including the 55,000 that Cape Town Stadium holds.

While it has not been officially released officially, it has been said that this new contract was a multimillion one, and this isn’t their first go at it. SportPesa is known for its deals with some of the most popular football clubs. Everton, Southampton, and Arsenal all have worked with SportPesa. The company is also title sponsor of the Kenyan Premier League.

A press conference was held to announce the new contract. Mr. Nick Ferguson is the director of SportPesa in South Africa. He stated at the press conference that he was excited to welcome Cape Town City FC to SportPesa’s international portfolio. He also added that this contract symbolized how the bookmaker was committed to help grow football in South Africa.

In addition to Ferguson being excited about the deal, so is Cape Town City FC. Chairman and Founder, Mr. John Comitis, expressed how exciting this new sponsor was for the club and how SportPesa is enabling Cape Town City FC to grow. This was shown by how much they anabled Southampton, Arsenal, and other clubs.

Comitis added that being sponsored by SportPesa will open doors for Cape Town City FC. It “give exposure and access to players” allowing them to compete at the highest level. Lastly, Comitis mentioned that this is the best way to start off the season.

It will be interesting to see what this new sponsorship does for the football club. The players are excited as their founder, and this deal will help them grow as players. In addition, SportPesa will also be making money off the deal, especially with all of the new brand awareness that is coming their way.
