UK Bookmaker – William Hill- Sells Shops in Northern Ireland to BoyleSports

William Hill is one of the first and most prominent names in the gambling industry of the United Kingdom. Throughout history, it has managed to expand beyond the borders of England and the United Kingdom. It has many shops in Ireland and the northern island and the USA. In the most recent news regarding the bookmaker, it has sold its bookmarker shops in Northern Ireland to the national bookmaker, BoyleSports.

William Hill Sells Bookmaker Shops to BoyleSports

In total, the bookmaker has sold all of its thirty-three bookmaker hops in Northern Ireland to BoyleSports. As a result of the deal, all of the betting shops will go through a rebranding process. They will now be under a new brand as a part of the largest independent Irish bookmaker, BoyleSports. It will bring the number of outlets for the Irish bookmaker in Northern Ireland to a total of thirty-nine. That is not all, as two shops belonged to William Hill in the Isle of Man will also be a part of this acquisition.

BoyleSports Chief Executive Comments on the New Deal

Conor Gray, BoyleSports’ Chief Executive, stated that BoyleSports is happy with this deal. It represents the achievement of a long-held ambition of the company to have a real retail presence in Northern Ireland along with the Isle of Man. John Boyle first opened the first shop n Northern Ireland back in 1982. Therefore, increasing the presence of the company in IR after so many years is a significant event on different fronts. Conor Gray added that the acquisition is undoubtedly going to complement the existing network of retail shops in NI. It would also enhance the retail network in Ireland. It also represents an important step towards the company’s ambitions to develop its retail footprint across the United Kingdom.

The deal is the biggest acquisition deal in the history of BoyleSports. It is going to bring the total number of bookmaker shops across Ireland to a total of 298. It will also bring the overall footprint in the United Kingdom to 317 shops. All of this shows the significance and importance of this new deal between BoyleSports and William Hill.
